PARISH TRADITIONS

White Sox Outing

St. Denis is located on the South Side of Chicago. Each summer we travel as a group to U.S. Cellular Field to watch our local team. All are welcome, even Cub fans!

St. Denis Parish Picnic

Our parish picnic is traditionally held on the last Sunday of July at a nearby forest preserve grove. We begin with Mass in God’s great outdoors. There is a tremendous picnic potluck feast. That’s followed by raffles and games for all. You can relax, converse, play softball or soccer, and simply have a great time. This is a highlight of the parish year.

Taste of St. Denis

This is the big one! Everybody comes to the Taste! We come together to sample food from the various cuisines that are part of our multi-cultural community. The day begins with Mass and then we move to the parish hall for our celebration. This is a great way to see old friends and to make new ones. The Taste is held the second Sunday of November.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena

The Virgin Mary’s feast day is preceded by nine evenings of prayer. Unique to St. Denis is the bilingual nature of our novena. It all culminates with a special Mass and fiesta on December 12th.
